The Beasts

Antoine and Olga are a French couple who settled down, some time ago, in a small village in inland Galicia to connect with nature. There, they lead a peaceful life, growing organic vegetables and restoring abandoned cottages to help attract people back to the hamlet, although coexisting with the local people isn’t as idyllic as they would like. When, in keeping with their commitment to the environment, the couple refuse to endorse a wind farm which would mean an unexpected source of income for the villagers, tensions rise. A conflict breaks out with their neighbors, the Anta brothers, and spreads throughout the hamlet until it reaches the point of no return.


Rodrigo Sorogoyen

Rodrigo Sorogoyen began his career in the world of television as a writer and director of series. In 2011 he founded his own production company, Caballo Films, with which he directed Stockholm, an indie drama that became one of the revelations of the year, winning the Goya for Best New Actor. He picked up seven more Goya Awards, including Best Director and Best Script, for El Reino (The Candidate) in 2018. The same year, he made the short feature, Madre (Mother), which was nominated for an Academy Award and won the Goya for Best Short Fiction Film. His 2020 television series, Antidisturbios (Riot Police), won numerous awards.
