The Antalya Film Forum, the co-production market and project development arm of the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, is now accepting submissions through the Festival website. Now in its 59th edition, the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is hosted by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality with the support of the Turkish Ministry of Culture and Tourism, and will be held from October 1-8, 2022.
In a written statement, Mayor of Antalya Muhittin Böcek announced that, after two years of being held online because of the pandemic, the Antalya Film Forum would this year take place both physically and online from October 2-6, 2022. Mr. Böcek added that a total TL 430 thousand worth of cash prizes would be awarded to projects selected by the Jury.
Directed by Armağan Lale and Pınar Evrenosoğlu, this year’s Antalya Film Forum will comprise five categories: the Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform, the Features Work in Progress Platform, the Documentaries Work in Progress Platform, the Sümer Tilmaç Antalya Film Fund Pitching Platform and the Series / Short Series Pitching Platform. As every year, the Forum will continue to support the development of the Turkish film industry, to expand co-production opportunities for projects produced or co-produced out of Turkey, and to strengthen ties between the Turkish and international film industries.
For both the Pitching for Feature Films in Development Platform, which offers funding to fiction films at the project stage, and the SümerTilmaç Antalya Film Fund Pitching Platform, which supports a single feature film planning to shoot in the city of Antalya, the final submission deadline is Friday, August 5, 2022.
With the Features Work in Progress Platform, which provides projects already in production with financial and networking support, and the Documentaries Work in Progress Platform, which supports documentary projects in the late stages of shooting or postproduction, the final submission deadline is Monday, August 8, 2022.
As to the Series / Short Series Pitching Platform, the regulations and final submission deadline will be announced in the coming days. This platform was launched in recognition of the growing role and importance of series in the audiovisual industry, and sets out to identify new talent, to support producers, and to contribute to the development of original and creative content through the provision of national and international support.
Projects shortlisted for the Pitching for Feature Films in Development and SümerTilmaç Antalya Film Fund Pitching Platforms will be announced on Thursday, September 1, 2022, and selections for the Features Work in Progress and Documentaries Work in Progress Platforms on Monday, September 5, 2022.
As well as the competitive element, pitching sessions and one-on-one meetings of the five platforms, the Antalya Film Forum will continue to reach out to film professionals this year with a series of talks, workshops and masterclasses launched in 2021 under the Forum+ umbrella.
The 59th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is chaired by the Mayor of Antalya, Muhittin Böcek, and executive directed by Cansel Tuncer, while Ahmet Boyacıoğlu takes on the role of Festival director and Başak Emre of artistic director.
