Held between October 24–31, 2026, the Antalya Golden Orange International Film Festival, Türkiye's longest-running film festival, will honor Abdurrahman Keskiner and Suzan Kardeş with this year's Cinema Labor Awards.

Producer Abdurrahman Keskiner, who has been selected to receive the Cinema Labor Award at the 63rd Antalya Golden Orange International Film Festival, was born in Osmaniye in 1941. He completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in Osmaniye, spending his final year of high school at Atatürk Boys' High School in Istanbul's Beyoğlu district. For a period, he worked as a substitute teacher in Büngüş Village, Karaisalı district of Adana. In 1965, he entered the film industry as Yılmaz Güney's manager, and in 1966, the two founded Güney Film. The films he produced quickly achieved significant success, with Bir Çirkin Adam winning the Best Film Award at the 1969 Antalya Film Festival. In 1971, after parting ways with Yılmaz Güney, Keskiner established Umut Film, under which he produced 72 feature films. He is also the elder brother of acclaimed filmmaker Arif Keskiner, who passed away in 2024.

Throughout his distinguished career, Abdurrahman Keskiner brought many landmark works of Turkish cinema to audiences, including Umut, Muhsin Bey, Hazal, Yılanı Öldürseler, Kuduz , Rabia, Namus Borcu, El Kapısı, Çirkef, Fotoğraflar , Sabuha, Fadile, Ceylan, Zeynep, Rüzgar, Gülbeyaz, Kaplan Pençesi, Sensizliğe Alışacağım, Anılar and Yağmur Altındaki Kedi. In addition to his contributions to cinema, Keskiner also worked extensively in television production. He produced the eight-part television adaptation of Orhan Kemal's Hanımın Çiftliği in 1989, the three-part Itri series for TRT in 1990, and the 15-episode Kırmızı Kart Osman for Show TV in 1993. He also produced the documentary Anadolu Evlenme Gelenekleri ve Düğün Törenleri for TRT.

The films produced by Abdurrahman Keskiner received numerous awards at both national and international film festivals, while also achieving significant milestones in world cinema. In 1970, Umut became the first Turkish film to be screened in the Directors' Fortnight (Quinzaine des Réalisateurs) section of the Cannes Film Festival. In 1980, Hazal became the second Turkish film to be screened in the Directors' Fortnight and made history as the first Turkish film to be nominated for the Caméra d'Or.

In 1987, Muhsin Bey won Best Film, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, and Best Original Score at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival. In recognition of his outstanding contributions to Turkish cinema, Abdurrahman Keskiner was honored with the Honor Award at the International Dadaş Film Festival in 2013, the Lifetime Honor Award at the International Lions Short Film Festival in 2015, the Lifetime Achievement and Honor Award from the Barrier-Free Life Foundation in 2016, the Honor Award at the Frankfurt Turkish Film Festival in 2017, and the Special Jury Award for Lifetime Contribution presented by Rotary District 2430 International in 2021.

In addition to his contributions to cinema, Abdurrahman Keskiner has made lasting contributions to his hometown of Osmaniye in the fields of education, culture, and healthcare. Through the Keskiner Foundation, he supported the construction of the Emine Keskiner Provincial Public Library and played a leading role in establishing the Hasan Keskiner Health Center, the Abdurrahman Keskiner Health Center, and the Abdurrahman Keskiner Fine Arts High School, which bears his name.

Suzan Kardeş, a hair stylist, makeup artist, singer, and actress, who has been selected to receive the Cinema Labor Award at the 63rd Antalya Golden Orange International Film Festival, has worked as a makeup artist and hair stylist in film, theatre, advertising productions, and photography shoots since 1980.

Suzan Kardeş has also built a distinguished career in music. She performed alongside Goran Bregović at his concerts and represented Türkiye at numerous international festivals through her performances abroad. Launching her professional singing career with a Turkish classical music album in 2007, Kardeş performs songs in Bosnian, Serbian, Albanian, Macedonian, and Turkish. She has shared the stage with legendary Romani music icon Esma Redžepova and Eurovision Song Contest winner Dino Merlin, and collaborated on an album with Divanhana, one of Bosnia and Herzegovina's leading music ensembles. In recognition of preserving the Hıdırellez tradition for 32 years and mentoring numerous makeup artists and hair stylists for the Turkish film industry, Suzan Kardeş was included by UNESCO in its Living Human Treasures – Representatives of Intangible Cultural Heritage Transmitted to Future Generations list.

Throughout her professional career, Suzan Kardeş worked as the makeup artist and hair stylist on all of Tolga Çevik's projects for 18 years. She also worked on numerous television commercials and personally designed and applied the Atatürk makeup worn by Haluk Bilginer for İş Bankası's acclaimed commercial campaign.

Kardeş served as a makeup artist and hair stylist on many acclaimed feature films, including Vizontele, Vizontele Tuuba, Hokkabaz, Beynelmilel, Cumhuriyet Şarkısı  the Eyvah Eyvah series, Nadide Hayat and the Hükümet Kadın series. She was also part of the makeup and hair departments for the television series Öyle Bir Geçer Zaman Ki, Vatanım Sensin and many other productions.

Widely recognized by television audiences through her on-screen appearances, Kardeş has also built a successful acting career in both film and television. Her film credits include Organize İşler, Nadide Hayat, Yapışık Kardeşler, Geçmişteki, Bergen, Sadık Ahmet, Dünya Varmış, and Yeni Şafak Solarken, which received an award this year. Most recently, she portrayed Morena, Dracula's mother, in the television series Fatih. She also played twin sisters in Benim Adım Aylamaz and the character Azime in Aziz. Continuing her theatre career, Kardeş currently performs the role of Havva in the long-running production of 7 Kocalı Hürmüz and stars as the lead singer in the musical Gırgıriye. Having completed the pre-production process for the feature film Adile, she is currently continuing the development and pre-production work for the film DİVA.

In 1983, Suzan Kardeş worked as the hair stylist and makeup artist for the cast of the stage production Hisseli Harikalar Kumpanyası at Şan Theatre. She later joined the newspaper Hürriyet, where she further developed her craft by providing makeup for actors appearing in the newspaper's popular photo novels (fotoromans). During the production of the Çalıkuşu photo novel, she met Sezen Aksu, and from 1985 onward became responsible for all of the celebrated singer's stage and on-set makeup.

The Cinema Labor Award, which was presented to Feride Çiçekoğlu last year, will be awarded this year to Abdurrahman Keskiner and Suzan Kardeş during the opening ceremony of the 63rd Antalya Golden Orange International Film Festival on Saturday, October 24, 2026.
