Derviş Zaim will serve as the chair of the National Feature Film Jury at Turkey’s longest-running film festival, the 63rd Antalya International Golden Orange Film Festival.
The 63rd International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival will take place this year from October 24 to 31, 2026. Derviş Zaim will serve as the Chair of the National Feature Film Jury.
Submissions for the festival’s National Competitions will remain open via the Golden Orange’s official website until 11:59 p.m. on Monday, August 31, 2026. The Best Film award for the National Feature Film Competition at the Golden Orange has been announced as 5 million TL.
Renowned Director Derviş Zaim to Serve as Chair of the National Feature Film Jury at the Golden Orange Film Festival!
Writer, director, and producer Derviş Zaim, who will serve as the Chair of the National Feature Film Jury at the 63rd Antalya International Golden Orange Film Festival, graduated from the Department of Business Administration at Boğaziçi University and went on to complete his master’s degree in Cultural Studies at the University of Warwick. He then completed the Master of Fine Arts in Film program at the Faculty of Fine Arts at Maltepe University.
To date, Derviş Zaim has directed 10 feature films and 2 documentaries, including Tabutta Rövaşata (1996), Filler ve Çimen (2000), Cenneti Beklerken (2006), Nokta (2008), and Shadows and Images (2010)—he has won a total of 18 awards at the Golden Orange Film Festival across five different festival years.
Derviş Zaim directed the films Tabutta Rövaşata, Filler ve Çimen, Çamur, Cenneti Beklerken, Nokta, Gölgeler ve Suretler, Devir, Balık, Rüya, and Flaşbellek, as well as the documentaries Paralel Yolculuklar and Tavuri.
Zaim’s film Tabutta Rövaşata won the Best Film and Best Screenplay awards at the 33rd Antalya Film Festival, while Ahmet Uğurlu was honored with the Best Actor award and Mustafa Preşeva received the Best Editing award for the film.
Elephants and Grass received the Jury Special Prize, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Editing, Best Art Director, Best Supporting Actor, and the Ministry of Culture Award at the Antalya Film Festival. The film Waiting for Paradise also won the Best Special Effects award at the Antalya Film Festival.
Zaim’s film Nokta also won the Avni Tolunay Special Jury Prize, Best Director, Best Music, and Best Sound Design awards at the Antalya Film Festival. Gölgeler ve Suretler also won the SİYAD Critics’ Award and Best Editing at the Antalya Film Festival.
In addition to writing the screenplays for his films, Derviş Zaim also served as producer on most of them. Continuing his creative work in the field of literature as well as cinema, Zaim was awarded the 1994 Yunus Nadi Novel Award for his novel Ares in Wonderland. His second novel, “Rüyet,” was published in 2019. In addition to his work in film and literature, Derviş Zaim created the contemporary art installations “Berzah” in 2024 and “Ayna” in 2025.
Derviş Zaim, who has won countless awards for his films—which have been screened at numerous national and international festivals—also continues his academic work and teaches at Istanbul Medeniyet University and Near East University.
