In the highlands of the Black Sea, Lütfiye (58) and Ayşe (73) grind corn in an old mill while recalling how they were married off at the age of seventeen. Lütfiye still carries the weight of that past. The responsibilities of child marriage have left permanent marks on her life. She often goes to the village with her friends to work in the tea fields, while her husband Ali (59) stands silently on the side. In contrast to Ali’s silence, women’s collective labor and solidarity come to the forefront. Yet beyond this silence, there is another person who changes the course of the story.
