SİNEMA OKULLARI ÖĞRENCİ FİLMLERİ YARIŞMASI | Yönetmen: Onur Sürek
This film, which tells the struggle for survival of the Doğan family who migrated from Mardin to Çukurova in 1988 by producing charcoal from orange trees, makes the unseen face of labor visible. Spanning from woodcutting to night watches, from the fear of fire to lives shaped by ash, the story also bears traces of the director’s personal past. The camera becomes the silent witness of a memory woven with smoke. In the film, the orange is not a fruit but a symbol of blackened labor.
