We all want to step out of our boring lives sometimes. Other people's lives always seem more interesting, more colorful, more adventurous. Sometimes, we all play childish games just to add a little excitement to our lives. But some games are dangerous. Their consequences can be serious. 'Evcilik' (House Play) is a psychological thriller with elements of dark humor. A quiet, very sweet small hotel near Assos in the Northern Aegean: Evcilik. Fırat and Filiz are a couple in their 30s, married for seven years. They come to Evcilik for a holiday. Their marriage has entered a stagnant phase, and there's not much excitement between them. Fırat has even forgotten how long it has been since they last had sex. Filiz reminds him: two months. They spend time at the hotel and the beach. Meanwhile, Filiz is on her way to becoming a small Instagram influencer, documenting every moment of her life. During this time, they notice Özkan, a local from a nearby village who manages the cleaning and running of the entire hotel and the seaside restaurant, along with his wife, Aysun, a very beautiful woman. Özkan is around 50, and Aysun is in her 30s, but despite the age difference, they are deeply in love with each other. They speak in the charming, unique accent of the Northern Aegean and affectionately call each other by nicknames: 'Kınalı' and 'Duman'. Fırat and Filiz secretly make fun of the local couple for their way of speaking and ignorance. They find them childish and cute but also quite boring. Then, one night, Filiz can't sleep, so she goes outside for some fresh air in the garden and sees Özkan and Aysun having a secret, passionate encounter on the balcony of the main building. She feels both excited and strangely envious at the sight of their extremely heated lovemaking. The next morning, she can't resist and tells Fırat about it. Fırat had always looked down on the locals, imagining them as 'sniffing around like rabbits' rather than truly making love. Now, they both start seeing Özkan and Aysun in a completely different light. But one day, while out on a hike on a deserted hill, supposedly searching for a historical ruin, Filiz suddenly mimics Aysun's way of speaking. She calls Fırat 'Duman,' trying to seduce him while speaking in Aysun's accent. At first, Fırat feels very embarrassed and hesitant, but then he joins in, speaking like Özkan and calling her 'Kınalı.' Imitating Özkan and Aysun, they get more and more excited, eventually making love. It’s the best they’ve had in months. Afterward, while still speaking like Aysun as 'Kınalı,' Filiz is unknowingly recorded by Fırat on video. One day, Aysun, curious about technology, secretly snoops through Filiz's tablet and watches the video. She sees the urban couple imitating her and Özkan, playing the roles of 'Kınalı and Duman,' while saying intimate and provocative things. From here, things take a turn. The balance of power shifts, and the story hurtles toward an unexpected, uncontrollable climax, like a truck with failed brakes.
