ULUSAL KISA FİLM YARIŞMASI | Yönetmen: Nuh Lalbay
Koray (30) is a white-collar worker who, deeply affected by the increasing moral decay of his society and his constant anxiety about the future, decides to move abroad. Shortly before his departure, his two closest friends invite him to a farewell dinner.Even on his way to the restaurant, Koray encounters examples and characters that justify his decision to emigrate, which only heightens his unease. During the farewell dinner, the three friends discuss the individual and societal aspects of emigrating abroad, touching on fundamental concepts whose meanings have become increasingly ambiguous in recent years—such as refugee-hood, homeland, nationalism, social etiquette, and money. Each approaches the topic from different perspectives, and tensions occasionally rise. At one point, the conversation hits a deadlock and the atmosphere grows tense. Murat, who is relatively level-headed, manages to ease the situation with the help of the musicians at the venue, and the evening comes to a close peacefully. After dinner, while walking through side streets in a drunken state, Koray witnesses a young girl being beaten by her boyfriend. At first, he ignores the incident and continues on his way. However, influenced by the discussions at the dinner table, he decides to intervene politely to defuse the situation. His intention is to handle the matter with tact and calmness. But things do not go as Koray expects. He encounters unexpected violence and putting his life in danger.
