After his mother's suicide, Tufan moves to Izmir and years later is forced to return to the village where he was born to settle inheritance matters. In the village, he learns that his childhood friend Gülşen is locked in the barn at night because she has dissociative identity disorder. Although he tries to save her, he comes up against the village's oppressive understanding of so-called 'honor.' During this process, he both confronts the wounds that bear traces of his mother and takes an active role by establishing a cooperative in the village, but not everything turns out as he hoped.
