This movie called The Scream of Butterflies, written by 117 people, is the third film written and directed by Cengis T. Asilturk, after Magical Truths and The Journey of the Albatross. The Scream of Butterflies consists of four parts. Each episode is about its own relationship. Therefore, four parts integrated within themselves essentially form a large whole, that is, an entire film.

First part; Barkan's character begins his writing adventure by reading a book to a blind man. As Barkan writes, his story comes to life. Hence your traces. In this episode, Barkan's schizophrenic brother, Hayri Irdal, is the director. While shooting a movie, Hayri creates Ruya's daughter in his dreams. Hayri, Ruya was allowed to give permission. Ruya experiences adventures that make her different all over Istanbul.

Second part; Hayri meets a vagrant named Palikarya who lives on the street. Thus, we witness the strange adventure of Palikarya. Palikarya fell in love with a girl in his youth. He tells the story of that love to Hayri throughout the Palicarya sections. The audience watches this story like a novel written by Barkan.

In the third episode; Barkan sells the novels he wrote to the famous writer Ulfet Seher. An ethical conflict arises between the old and genius writer Resat and Ulfet, who wants to publish his novels under her own name.

The fourth episode includes the adventure of Huseyin, who is in a relationship with a married man, and Buşra, who is in forbidden love with him. Busra wants to turn all the pain she has experienced into a novel. She makes an agreement with Barkan and has him write her experiences as a novel. Thus, a complete film emerges from Barkan's adventure.
