There have been intense clashes between security forces and separatist terrorist elements on the southeastern border of our country for years. İbrahim's only son İsmail, in his late forties, is doing his compulsory military service in this region and has 20 days left until his military service ends. Under these conditions, İbrahim, an asthmatic, lives in an old, dilapidated village house with his father İsmail. While he is dealing with a wild animal that is haunting his chickens and eggs, his only source of income, he also wants to hospitalize his father for treatment. Lack of money has caused a rift between him and his wife, and has left him unable to even buy a school notebook for his daughter.
When the letter from his soldier son, whom he has been waiting for a long time to send his salary, comes empty, he is disappointed. When they go to the bank to collect his father's old age pension, they cannot withdraw the money because there is no ID, and in the confusion, he unknowingly takes a large bag of money from someone who has had a heart attack. On television news, images of soldiers dying in conflicts are watched almost every day, funerals of young people come to even the small town, deaths are almost ordinary. He has no choice but to smuggle forest, but he is wary of illegal activities. In these feelings, İbrahim notices the money in the bag mixed up in the bank and is undecided whether to hand them over or not.
While leaving home to go to town, he realizes that his father has died, but he does not tell anyone. He should at least receive the salary he did not receive. He brings back his wife and little daughter, who are clearly against his son staying in the military and therefore leave home and stay in their father's house. On one side, the deep poverty he cannot cope with, on the other side, his young son whose military service is ending, which is in mortal danger because he is in a conflict zone, and on the other side, enough money to support him for the rest of his life. His conscience does not leave him alone; he hands the money over to the police station, but nothing will be the same again.
