SINIRLARDAN SINIRSIZLIĞA | Yönetmen: Sepideh Farsi
Sepideh Farsi’s documentary Put Your Soul On Your Hand And Walk depicts life in Gaza under Israeli military occupation. Farsi had previously placed war at the center of her films as well. The film is interwoven with video calls between Sepideh Farsi and young Palestinian photographer Fatem Hassona. Hassona continues her resistance by documenting the ongoing genocide in Gaza. Although constrained by every possible condition, Farsi succeeds in constructing a poignant and heartbreaking portrait of Fatem through these exchanges. While much of the film is shot via phone video calls, the intimacy it conveys toward Fatem is rare in cinema. The film ends with Fatem Hassona’s assassination in her home, an event that completely transforms its meaning and renders it incredibly urgent and necessary today.
