Student Films Competing For The Golden Orange Are Announced
61st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival has announced the student films that will compete for the Golden Orange statuette.
The 61st International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, which will be held on October 5-12, is hosting the Cinema Schools Student Film Competition in order to make student films shot in cinema schools visible and to encourage cinema students.
The jury consisting of director Handan İpekçi, Mehmet Güleryüz, President of the Professional Association of Cinema and Television Work Owners (SETEM) and producer Aycan Çetin will evaluate the works in the competition selection.
Opening New Doors for Students and Cinema Schools
Congratulating the finalist films, Sema Fener, General Coordinator of the Cinema Schools Student Film Competition, said: “The difference of this competitive section, which takes place for the first time at the Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, from the traditional National Short Film Competition is that the films of the cinema schools, which were shot within the framework of their own curricula, participate in the competition and compete in their programs and styles. Another important aspect will be the opportunity for the students of these schools to meet with film professionals and exchange ideas. In this way, the film industry will be able to discover the students and the students will be able to foresee the methods they will encounter in the art they will work in the future. The Cinema Schools Student Film Competition, which takes place at the festival for the first time this year, will open a new door for both the students and the cinema schools where they are trained. We wish success to these 12 films, which depict the identity of the cinema education provided by the universities they represent, with different subjects and a different cinematic language, in the final stage of the competition.”
