63. INTERNATIONAL ANTALYA GOLDEN ORANGE FILM FESTIVAL
INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION REGULATIONS

GENERAL PRINCIPLES

Article 1 – Festival Definition: The International Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival is accredited by FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Associations) as a festival specialized in organizing feature-length film competitions. The festival is organized by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and aims to bring creative works in the fields of cinema and television together with the people of Antalya and international participants.

Article 2 – Festival Objectives:

  • To establish a platform that brings together national and international cinema professionals,
  • To foster a sense of local pride and belonging among the people of Antalya,
  • To contribute to the international promotion of Turkish cinema,
  • To position Antalya as a film-friendly city,
  • To support new projects through the Antalya Film Forum.

STRUCTURAL SECTIONS

Article 3 – Festival Dates:

The 2026 edition of the festival will take place between October 24 – October 31, 2026.

Article 4 – Sections: The Festival comprises the following sections:

  • National Competitions (feature-length, documentary, short film)
  • International Competition
  • World Cinema
  • Retrospectives
  • Special Screenings and Selections
  • Film Forum
  • Children and Youth Program

Article 5 – Film Forum: Film Forum (FF) is a co-production and project development market for projects from

Turkey in their pre-production, production and post-production stage. The Film Forum is regulated by its own individual regulations and runs a separate program of activities.

INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION

Article 6 – Eligibility Criteria:

Eligible films must meet the following criteria:

  • Must have been completed no earlier than 12 months prior to the start of the festival (i.e., after November 2025).
  • Must have their Turkiye premiere at the festival.
  • Must have a runtime longer than 60 minutes.
  • Must not have been commercially released, broadcast on television, or made available on VoD platforms.
  • Must not conflict with the regulations of other FIAPF-accredited festivals.

Article 7 – Submission and Selection:

Films may be admitted to the International Competition through submission or invitation. Selections are made by the International Film Coordinator and the programming team appointed by the Festival Artistic Director. A pre-selection jury may be appointed during the evaluation process. Once a film is invited to the festival program, the participant must confirm their acceptance by completing and signing the Participation Form and returning it to the festival. The form can be downloaded from the “Film Submission” WEB page after the invitation is sent.

Article 8 – Selection:

The Festival is not obliged to offer comments or reasons for not selecting a film submitted for one of festival's program.

Article 9 – Withdrawal:

Once the invitation to participate is accepted, the film cannot be withdrawn from the program. Selected films must comply with the screening laws of their country of origin.

Article 10 – Screening Formats:

The standard screening format is DCP. In special cases, other digital formats may be accepted with the approval of the festival’s technical team.

Article 11 – Participation and Promotional Obligations:

The festival expects, if possible, the directors and lead actors of the invited films to attend the screenings in Antalya. The festival does not cover travel expenses but allocates a limited number of hotel rooms. The festival guest office will manage accommodation arrangements. Participants agree to attend the official press conference, photo sessions, pre-screening introductions, and selected media interviews. Participants must ensure the official festival logo is visibly included in all social media accounts, promotional and advertising materials related to the selected films. The festival will provide separate logos for each program section.

Article 12 – Language and Subtitles:

Films will be screened in their original language. If a language other than English is used, English subtitles must be provided by the participant. If the film is not in Turkish, Turkish subtitles are also required. If there is a Turkish distributor, subtitle costs are covered by them; otherwise, the festival will provide the subtitles.

Article 13 – Delivery and Insurance of Copies:

DCP and required media materials must be delivered no later than one and a half month before the starting date of the festival. (i.e., by September 15, 2026) All DCPs will be returned within four weeks after the festival ends. If the return address differs, it must be clearly specified. Insurance coverage for the DCP begins when it is received by the authorized carrier in Türkiye and continues until it is re-shipped. In case of loss or damage during the festival, only the cost of producing a new copy at current lab rates will be covered. Any DCP damage must be reported in writing within one month of return and prior to any subsequent screening.

Article 14 – Promotional Materials:

Selected films must provide the following materials prior to the festival dates for catalog and promotional purposes:

  • Director’s photo, biography, and filmography
  • Film synopsis and technical information
  • 5 film stills
  • Dialogue list (spotting list)
  • Trailer/clip links
  • Digital poster

The festival may use all materials cited in Article 14 for promotional purposes and in order to compile the festival catalogue. The festival bears no responsibility for published inaccuracies originating in submitted materials.

Article 15 – Submission Deadline:

All applications and preview copies must be submitted by Sep 15, 2026, without exception.

JURY AND AWARDS

Article 16 – Jury:

The International Competition Jury will consist of at least five individuals selected from the fields of art, cinema, criticism, and production. The jury president is appointed by the festival management. In accordance with FIAPF regulations, at least two-thirds of the jury must be non-Turkish nationals. In a 5-member jury, no more than 1 member can be Turkish; in a 7-member jury, no more than 2. A representative selected by the festival management may attend jury meetings as an observer but cannot vote. Decisions are made by open vote and absolute majority. Jury members may not have any involvement with the competing films.

Article 17 – Award Categories:

The Jury will present the following awards:

  • Best Film
  • Best Director
  • Best Actress (no monetary prize)
  • Best Actor (no monetary prize)
  • Jury Special Award (no monetary prize)

Note: Awards may not be shared (no ex aequo). The Jury Special Award may be granted to any film in the program. This award honors works distinguished by aesthetic or narrative audacity, formal innovation, social impact, or artistic integrity.

Article 18 – Promotional Obligation:

Award-winning films must indicate the award they received along with the festival logo in all promotional materials. This applies to both print and digital media and must be fulfilled by the distributor, sales agent, or producer. Logos and award labels provided by the festival must be used in the designated format and prominently displayed. Failure to comply may result in the festival declining to collaborate with the related production company or representatives in future editions.

Article 19 – Confidentiality:

Participation in the Festival implies acceptance of all aforementioned regulations. The Antalya Metropolitan Municipality has the power to settle all issues not covered by these regulations. The festival management reserves discretion to make changes with regard to all matter specified in these regulations.

Article 20 – Right to Interpretation:

The festival management reserves the right to make decisions and amendments regarding matters not covered by these regulations. Participation in the festival implies acceptance of all conditions stated in this regulation.
